LouEllen is one of the long-standing staff members. She started in 1999 and began her Veterinary Nursing Certificate studies in 2005. LouEllen loves nursing but still enjoys her interaction with clients while working as one of our spectacular receptionists.
Originally from County Clare, Debbie is our lovely Irish import with a little bit of fire in her belly. She has been with us since 2006, in which time she has developed from volunteer status to one of our senior nurses.
Nicole started as a nurse here at Kippax Veterinary Hospital at the end of 2009 after previously working in a small clinic and boarding kennel. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2009 and loves all areas of her job.
Nicki is one of our senior nurses. She has been a qualified vet nurse for over 10 years now. Nicki started working at Kippax Veterinary Hospital in 2007 after a three-month adventure in South Africa.
Emma grew up in Sydney and Canberra and has a background of working in the hospitality industry but decided on a career change in 2016 when she began her vet nursing studies.
Originally from Wales, Bec moved to Australia in 2009. She joined the team at Kippax Vet in February 2015. Bec completed her Cert III in companion animal services in 2014 and gained her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2016.
Vanessa is originally from South Australia and has joined us in Canberra after spending the last 3 years in Queensland, where she was lucky enough to be able to be able to help care for the beautiful sea turtles.
Chloe started working here at Kippax Vet in mid 2016 after completing her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2015. Chloe enjoys travelling and in 2015 she spent time in Borneo volunteering with Orangutans. More recently she travelled to the UK for 6 months on a working holiday.
In her spare time, Chloe likes watching The Bachelor and spending time with her dogs Loui the Pug and Duke the Bull Terrier and Cooper the cat
After starting at Kippax Vet in 2014 doing kennel hand shifts after school, Lauren went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018.
In 2017 Lauren travelled to Thailand to volunteer with an elephant conservation and rescue dog program.
When not working, Lauren enjoys going on walks, catching up with friends and hanging out with her pets Luna the Labrador and Gary the Turtle.
Mikael grew up in Chile and was always set on being a Vet but after moving to Australia in 2015 and learning that he could be a Vet Nurse he decided for this path instead and hasn’t regretted it since. He joined the team at Kippax Vet in 2017 and completed his Certificate IV in Vet Nursing the same year.
Mikael is a Harry Potter fan and in his spare time enjoys reading and writing, hanging out with his room-mates Kitties and playing Video games
Maddie joined the team at Kippax Vet as a volunteer in 2018. She has a degree in Zoology and Ecology and prior to starting at Kippax, Maddie worked at the National Zoo & Aquarium for 8 years as a zookeeper and running educational programs. She is currently studying Certificate IV in Vet Nursing and loves learning and experiencing new challenges. Maddie also runs puppy classes here at Kippax Vet. Away from work, you’ll find Maddie hanging out with her dog, Kayla the large cross breed and her cat Maurice. In her spare time she enjoys competing in obstacle races such as Spartan and True Grit.
Courtney grew up in Brisbane and got the chance to move to Canberra for volleyball in 2017. She studied exercise science for two years before realising it wasn’t the career path she wanted. Courtney then started studying cert IV Veterinary Nursing at the beginning of 2018 which lead to her getting a work experience position at Kippax Vet towards the end of 2018. After completing her Cert IV in September 2019, Courtney started working as a kennel hand/ nurse for Kippax Vet.
Jessica joined the team at Kippax Vet in January 2020 after completing her Cert II in Animal Studies in 2018, and Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2019. She has always wanted to work with animals and highly values the health and well being of all living creatures. In her spare time she enjoys playing piano, reading, seeing live music and spending time with family. But most of her time is spent with her four beautiful cats and one very special dog.
