  • Rebecca Vearncombe
    - Nurse Manager
    Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

    Originally from Wales, Bec moved to Australia in 2009. She joined the team at Kippax Vet in February 2015. Bec completed her Cert III in companion animal services in 2014 and gained her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. Bec also has Dog And Animal Grooming Qualifications, which she obtained in 2018.
    Bec has a soft spot for cats, and over the years Bec has rescued 3 beautiful Domestic Short Hair's. Her first rescue, Oscar who she adopted as a stray and is absolutely spoilt rotten. Her second rescue, Smokey has a sassy cheeky attitude and loves to chat away all day long. Her last rescue, for now... Milo is a snugly ginger baby who loves practicing new tricks. In her spare time, Bec loves spending time with her friends and family as well as curling up on the couch watching the latest gossip show.

    Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

    Nicole started as a nurse here at Kippax Veterinary Hospital at the end of 2009 after previously working in a small clinic and boarding kennel.
    She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2009 and loves all areas of her job.

  • Nicki Mokhiza
    Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

    Nicki is one of our senior nurses. She has been a qualified vet nurse for over 10 years now. Nicki started working at Kippax Veterinary Hospital in 2007 after a three-month adventure in South Africa.
    Nicki met her husband while in South Africa and they now have a beautiful little boy, born in December 2009. Prior to working at KVH, Nicki worked at Customs Detector Dog Unit for four years, where she trained and cared for the amazing customs dogs. Nicki's family has several horses and she has competed in endurance riding (long-distance) for the past 20 years. She also enjoys playing volleyball, polocross and making jewellery.
    You may have seen Nicki at one of the other practice, Queanbeyan vet hospital. 

  • Emma Drew-Cowan
    Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

    Emma grew up in Sydney and Canberra and has a background of working in the hospitality industry but decided on a career change in 2016 when she began her vet nursing studies.

  • Maddie Harvey
    Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

    Maddie joined the team at Kippax Vet as a volunteer in 2018. She has a degree in Zoology and Ecology and prior to starting at Kippax, Maddie worked at the National Zoo & Aquarium for 8 years as a zookeeper and running educational programs. She completed her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing in 2020 and loves learning and experiencing new challenges. Maddie also runs puppy classes here at Kippax Vet. Away from work, you’ll find Maddie hanging out with her dog, Kayla the large cross breed and her cat Maurice.  In her spare time she enjoys competing in obstacle races such as Spartan and True Grit.  

    Maddie also spends some of her time working at our sister clinic Kaleen Veterinary Hospital. 

  • Courtney Durston
    Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

    Courtney grew up in Brisbane and got the chance to move to Canberra for volleyball in 2017. She studied exercise science for two years before realising it wasn’t the career path she wanted. Courtney then started studying cert IV Veterinary Nursing at the beginning of 2018 which lead to her getting a work experience position at Kippax Vet towards the end of 2018. After completing her Cert IV in September 2019, Courtney started working as a kennel hand/ nurse for Kippax Vet. 

  • Alisha Mohapp
    Receptionist/ Trainee Nurse

    Alisha worked with us as a kennel hand for two years before stepping up as a receptionist and junior nurse during COVID.
    She has a Cert III in Companion Animals from 2020 and is finishing up her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022.
    Her hobby and (other) passion is dance, she has been dancing for 12 years and currently dances with High Kix Cabaret as a Showgirl.
    She has 1 rescue kitten (so far!) named Persephone who she adopted after her and her siblings were surrendered to Kippax Vet. Alisha plans to pursue emergency nursing over the next few years

  • Claire Blakeley
    Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

    Claire Started here at Kippax Vet at the start of 2021 , and obtained her Cert 4 Vet Nursing in December 2021.
    Growing up on a hobby farm in Bywong NSW, she was surrounded by animals and found her passion of loving and caring for them.
    Outside of work Claire enjoys going to the gym and loves spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys going down to the coast on weekends and loves the outdoors.
    You may also see Claire working at one of our other clinics at West Woden Animal hospital.
